Yellowstone Gorge
Lower Falls
Artists' Point
Small Tree
Calcite Springs

It goes without saying Yellowstone is one of our most beloved National Parks.

The Yellowstone River flows in a classic v-shaped rhyolite gorge. Artists Point allows a spectacular view of the Lower Falls, which spill 308 feet into the gorge at a rate of 680 cubic feet per second, twice as high as Niagara Falls. A pine tree points to the gorge at Artists Point, where an even smaller tree clings to a rock over the canyon. High over the gorge at Calcite Springs, massive rock formations line the gorge like stone fence posts.
