Some images depend on a lack of sunlight to make the image work. In full sun the rocks on the north face of the bank are in such deep shadow that they cannot be seen. In addition the contrast between full sun in the foreground and deep shadows in the background would make a negative that is very hard to print. Subtract the sunlight and shoot on an overcast day, the vertical rocks in the background at Silver Mines can be seen and the foreground rocks can be seen in all their roundness.
